Rogerstone Community Band already have a full and exciting year planned with local concerts, a Concert Tour to Liskeard and Looe in Cornwall to perform with the Liskeard Silver Band and the Liskerret Male Voice Choir in June and a fantastic concert planned for late 2018 with the Farnham Brass Band and the Sandhurst Military Wives Choir in Surrey.
Rogerstone Community Band are a non-competing organisation and our members are made up of players from local competing bands and those who don't enjoy participating in contests anymore, (we try to ensure rehearsals do not interfere with contest preparations) We all have one thing in common - we are in it for the music!
Our Musical Director is Mr Rob Burnett, an inspirational and talented bandsman and conductor, who makes each rehearsal and event an enjoyable experience.
We welcome players of all ages and ability regardless of standard and instrument, in particular we would like to hear from Cornet and Eb Bass players.
Please contact Steve on 07977 306 011 or Rob Burnett on 07817 599 626 or PM either of us on here.

The Rogerstone Community Band is delighted to announce that the Newport Borough Brass Band has made the Rogerstone Band bandroom their new permanent home.

This is a fantastic development, which shows how important it is to support a fellow brass band.

Our Chairman said "It is great to see the spirit of banding here. Two bands coming together to help support each other is exactly what Brass Banding is all about. We hope Newport Borough Band have a pleasant and long stay with us and we wish them the best with their endavours."

Newport Borough Band rehearse Monday and Thursday between 7pm and 9pm. New players are always welcome. For further information, please contact their Band Secretary Kirsty Davies on 07794 253954

The Rogerstone Community Band are extremely pleased to announce the appointment of our new Musical Director, Mr Robert Burnett.

Rob started playing as a boy in the Salvation Army under the tutelage of his Father. After leaving the Salvation Army he went on to play Solo Euphonium with some of the top brass bands in Wales, these include, The Cory Band, Tredegar and Parc & Dare.

Having played under many of the very finest conductors in the Brass Band world he decided he would like to pass all that vast experience on and combine conducting with playing. He has coached and conducted many bands in South Wales including a spell as resident conductor with the Tredegar Band.

Travelling further afield he accepted invitations to conduct, teach and play throughout mainland Europe and Scandinavia.

After spending several years living in France, where Rob played and conducted with several music ensembles, he returned to South Wales and has been very busy since helping to coach several bands whilst maintaining his role as Solo Euphonium with the Mid Rhondda Band.

This is a very exciting time for The Rogerstone Community Band and we are looking forward to working with such an inspirational and talented conductor and bandsman.

We would like to extend our thanks and best wishes to Andy Wareham, who had directed the band from its re-launch in February 2017. Andy has decided to focus his time and effort on his studies and his extremely busy schedule with RWCMD and M2 brass band.

The Rogerstone Community Band is please to be supporting the Gwent Adult Community Wind Band. The Adult Community Wind Band is the first of its type created by Gwent Music.
